Kim O'Hara
Specialties: Pendants, Bracelet FocalsLocation: TN U.SKim O'Hara is a self taught ceramic clay artist from the beautiful mountains of Eastern Tennessee. Rustic and textural or smooth and delicate, her pendants offer both a visual and tactile experience. Kim's love of nature inspires many of her pieces. Each piece is hand-formed from Porcelain, Stoneware, or Earthenware clay. After they have dried, each piece is cleaned, then fired in a kiln for 3 hours to a "bisque" state. At this point the clay is ready for glazing. After 2-3 layers of glaze are applied, they are placed back into the kiln for another 3-5 hours reaching temperatures of 2200 F or more for the final firing.
